Clay Banks' career began in New York back in 1970 when his father introduced him to an 8 mm movie camera and flat bed editor. Clay took to it quickly and began directing and editing his own short films. At age 16 he spent two years at a technical school studying professional photography. After graduating, Clay moved on to college where he studied filmmaking, acting and theatre.
After College, Clay’s life took an interesting turn when he
landed a position with a New York based ‘Fortune 500 Company’
as instructor and motivational speaker. This allowed for the development
of his
teaching skills and furthered his knowledge of people and life.
In 1992 he moved to California. Over the next ten years, Clay taught and directed hundreds of actors, produced and directed numerous live shows and in 1995 Clay became the improv director of The World Famous Comedy Store. He has appeared in upwards of 100 TV commercials, worked in movies and landed the recurring role of Lt. Richardson in the action TV series ‘LA Heat’.
Presently, Clay heads up GodWorks, a Hollywood based, Spirit led
Film Acting Studio and Production Company. He teaches a powerful ‘on
camera’ film acting technique which is strongly grounded in
biblical principals. Clay also teaches Leadership and Video Production
classes at media and performing arts schools and continues to act,
write, produce and direct.
Clay Banks is truly a gifted and passionate teacher making it his
goal to assist others in reaching their own goals.
